Nadia Bjorlin Biography
Nadia Alexandra Björlin (Bjorlin) was born on
August 2nd 1980 in Newport, Rhode Island, but lived in Sweden until the age of 7. Nadia was born with an amazing voice which was passed on to her from her Swedish father, who was a composer and conductor, Ulf Björlin (1933-1993). Her exotic look comes from her mother, Fary, an interior decorator, who has a Persian background. Nadia is quite talented, as she speaks Swedish, Persian, English and can sing in other languages as well, renowned for her Soprano voice. When her and her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, she attended the Palm Beach County School of the Arts (now Dreyfoos School of the arts) along with her brothers Ulf and Jean Paul, where she excelled in music and theater. All three siblings have found success in show business since graduation. When Nadia graduated from high school, she decided to shift her focus to acting.
When an agent of NBC soap opera, Days of our Lives sent out a nationwide casting call for the role of mysterious young opera singer 'Chloe.' Nadia flew out to Los Angeles for the screen-test and two days later, she won the part. She started her contracted role on Novmber 1999, which she worked on and off, and now has a cotract with Days until 2009.
Meanwhile, Nadia has appeared on different primetime shows such as, Jake in Progress, Complete Savages, Sex, Love & Secrets and Out of Practice. Later on she also appeared in the independent 2007 Sundance Film Festival feature film, If I Had Known I Was a Genius, starring Markus Redmond, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, and Tara Reid. That same year she also got the lead role on Redline. The film starred Eddie Griffin and Nathan Phillips, and was released in theaters on April 13, 2007. Bjorlin portrays Natasha Martin, a young automobile fanatic and lead singer of a still unsigned West Coast band. The character finds herself caught up in illegal street-racing competitions organized for the pleasure of a bunch of bored multi-millionaires. In 2008, she also got the role of Sonia Hunter in the movie, Jack Rio, which is filming at this time.
If you're curious to know, Nadia states that she loves latin music and latin dance, such as salsa and merengue. Because of her love of music and dance, she appeared in the Ricky Martin music video, "Shake Your Bon-Bon" as a go-go dancer.
